Total Defence

Total defence is a defense policy combining and extending the concept of military defense and civil defense. It involves a high level of readiness of both military and civilian sectors to prepare a country for war. In Sweden, total defense involves the whole of society and encompasses activities to prepare the country for war, including military and civil defense. Singapore's total defence is a whole-of-society national defense concept based on the premise that every aspect of society contributes to the collective security of the country. It comprises six pillars: Military Defence, Civil Defence, Economic Defence, Social Defence, Digital Defence, and Psychological Defence.
